dscn2524.jpgThis is a long term dream project that I recently realized after that W2PV "Yagi Antenna Design" ON4UN low band dx-ing have been  on my desk for a long time.

It is anoter "U" beam, as  the 40 meter yagis.

The boom is 12 meters long and the 2 elemenrs are 26 meters long; they are fiberglass telescopics pole (www.spiderbeam.com ) in which copper wire has been inserted.

The two half elements are joined together with a 3 meters aluminum tube, 55mm internal diameter. The full element lenght is 26 meter and the 40 meter electrical lenght is achieved leaving the remaninig 7 meters copper wire falling down, each side.dscn2533.jpg

 Tuning process

The lenght  wire inside the radiator is the result of the dipole formula 465/3.650; the tuning has been obtained cutting the two end line at 22 meters at resonance with the MFJ259.

To achieve F/B the reflector lenght s 10% longer than the radiator tuned lenght.

Special thanks to my friend Giancarlo Naldi, who has been helping me for a long time in tower realizations with  logistic and manual hard work; without his curiosity, serious and "excellen sense" approach, all set-up sould be still on the paper. More Photos in Gallery section .
